BTG95 Four Patch Diamond in A Square Quilt
c.1875
72 x 84 inches
Pennsylvania
$475

This creative quilt is called a Diamond in a Square Four Patch on point...whew! This quilter then placed four of these together creating a Double Four Square quilt design. There are 20 of these larger blocks that are all hand pieced. Each square has 5" sides. The sashing is a generous 4-1/2" wide. The squares inside the little blocks measue 1-1/2" on their sides.

The main fabric used is, in my mind, a very sophisticated print and color. The wide sashing gives, to me, the feeling of importance. The yellow corner print in the squares are just happy to look at. The yardage needed here lets us know that the creator was from a "comfortable" family. This is not a scrapbag top. Waiting to be finished for over 150 years and in perfect condition. Always sent on approval with free shipping.
