Admission is charged and tickets are available at all the buildings. The visitor center is located in Jefferds’ Tavern on the corner of Lindsay Road and York Street (Rt. 1A). Free parking is available at Jefferds’ Tavern

Antiques and Societies

Antiques Council members have hundreds if not thousands of years of collective experience in evaluating antiques on a professional basis. Our members share their insights through the FOCUS PROGRAM, which conveys information on a wide range of subjects in short illustrated papers.

The Montclair Historical Society, a nonprofit volunteer organization, promotes preservation, study and appreciation of local history. The Society was originally founded in 1965 to save the Israel Crane House, a Federal Revival style landmark home built by a local entrepreneur in 1796. The Crane House has since become a centerpiece for an enclave of historical buildings, furnishings and gardens, classes in historic skills and activities, and tours for adults and children. Since 1965, the Society has been bringing together people interested in the history of Montclair and providing facilities, materials and activities to further interest in local history.
